We use Cynosure’s medical grade and FDA approved Elite iQ laser to permanently remove unwanted thread veins from the face and legs. This advanced laser technology uses pulses of light to target and collapse the blood vessels responsible for veins, making them disappear. The light heats up the veins very quickly causing them to collapse in on themselves. The process is called photo thermolysis. Because the laser targets the blood vessels within the vein, there is no damage to the outer layer of skin and virtually no down time. This treatment is so effective, that in most cases, just one treatment is required. When treating larger veins you may need a couple more.

What to expect

The area to be treated must be tan free including free of tanning products.
The treatment area will be cleaned.
The practitioner will use the Skintel melanin reader in the area to be treated and adjust the settings according to your specific skin type and treatment protocol.
The practitioner will then guide the Elite iQ handpiece and cooling device over the treatment area.
The handpiece will emit beams of laser energy which are absorbed by thread veins causing them to collapse.
Most people say it’s mildly uncomfortable and feels like a hot rubber band flicking against the skin.
The treated area will become raised for a few days.
Over the following weeks the thread veins will fade and disappear.
It will take 8-10 weeks for the final outcome to be achieved.

Causes of Thread Veins

Thread veins are most commonly found on the face and legs. They are also referred to as spider veins but the medical name for them is “Telangiectasia”. This condition can develop in anyone at any age but does become more common with age. Facial thread veins are not dangerous but in rare cases, thread veins can be a sign of an underlying medical condition. Facial thread veins are tiny blood vessels which run close to the surface of the skin. They look like thin red or occasionally purple or blue lines. They appear when blood vessels become enlarged which cause the veins to appear broken. Leg thread veins can be larger in size but are not as big or twisted like varicose veins.
