What causes fungal nail infections?
Fungal nail infection is caused by microscopic fungi and you have an increased risk of developing this if you have one or more of the following:
- Athletes foot
- Nail infection
- Poor circulation or weak immune system
- Psoriasis
- Hereditary
- Chemotherapy treatment for cancer
Anyone can get a fungal nail infection but your risk increases with age, climate and health. The older you get the bigger the risk. The warmer and wetter the climate the greater the chance.

Elite iQ Laser Fungal Nail Treatment
How Laser Treatment Works on Fungal Nails
Exposure of fungi to high temperatures inhibits their growth. The laser beam is applied to the entire nail plate using consecutive spots. If one nail is infected, all nails on that hand or foot have to be treated. Three passes are made on each nail to complete each fungal infection treatment. Four fungal infection treatments are normally needed one week apart. Once the fungi is dead, the nail will grow out normally. Some discolouration of the nail may occur but fades within weeks. There is no downtime or after effects.
What to expect
Hand or toenail fungus killed and normal nail growth seen within weeks post treatment.
Onychomycosis (Fungal Nail) must be diagnosed by a Doctor, Dermatologist or Podiatrist, in writing, before we can start treatment. Please email, message or call to book your consultation. Consultations are not bookable through the website. Thank you.
