Laser Tattoo removal on dark skin

Lasers use various wavelengths to target the pigment in the ink. These wavelengths can also target the melanin in the skin. The darker the skin type with a greater amount of melanin, the higher the risk of removing the melanin permanently causing hypopigmentation.

We can safely treat all colour inks on skin types 1-3.

We can not treat warm colour inks, red, yellow and orange, on skin types 4-6.

We can treat skin types 4-5 with caution but you will need to email a photo of your tattoo to info@zapplaserstudio.co.uk before you book your consultation so that we can check your skin type and make sure we can treat you safely.

Unfortunately we can not treat skin type 6.
