How We Remove Unwanted Hair Using Elite IQ Laser
Laser hair removal at our Bristol laser clinic works by targeting the follicles the hair grows out of with a special type of light which heats them up and destroys them. This produces permanent hair reduction. Our Elite IQ Laser is the fastest and most effective hair removal laser on the market and we use it in combination with our Skintel melanin reader which allows us to assess the melanin density in your skin. This means we can set the laser to perfectly suit your skin type to maximise the effectiveness and avoid overtreatment.
What to Expect from Laser Hair Removal Treatment
The process begins with a consultation with one of our Bristol laser clinic technicians who will be the same person who treats you throughout the course of your treatment to offer consistency. They will discuss what you want to achieve and give you an idea of what to expect. We will test patch a very small area and then we can start treatment 48 hours later. On the day of your first treatment, the area to be treated needs to be free from either natural tan or tanning products. Your technician will clean the skin in that area before using the Skintel melanin reader to assess your skin type and set the laser accordingly.
Once the technician applies the Elite IQ Laser to the area you want treated, it will target the hair follicles and use its laser energy to destroy them without harming the surrounding skin. You may feel some slight discomfort which has been described as feeling like having a rubber band flicked against the skin but our state of the art laser is very quick so it won’t last for long.
For total permanent reduction of hair, most of our Bristol clients require around 6 to 8 laser hair removal treatments spaced between 4 to 8 weeks apart. You will also see the same practitioner who will know your skin and what you want to achieve so can continue to treat you as effectively as possible.
